    I don’t suppose this is on YouTube somewhere, eh? Work computer won’t play videos from NHL due to an outdated version of the flash player. Stupid network restrictions. Grr.

  2. Not sure, Sam. I have the opposite problem. NHL videos work fine. YouTube and almost anything else fun is blocked by the filter.

  3. Goat says:

    MASSIVE props to the game entertainment crew for getting that up on the big screen Saturday. Chilling, in the good way.

  4. Absolutely agree, Goat.

    I’m also waiting for them to post the video that was shown before the normal pre-game video. At first I was thinking “what is this”… then the big payoff.

    Great stuff.

    Glad they finally got around to producing this one. I wrote the NHL offices after this game when they choose the Pens 2OT winner instead of the Caps. Their version also looks suspiciously like the homemade one Max made for RMNB (I sent them the link in my complaint)

    @Colin –
    The NHL did not produce the History Video. We did. The league chooses which games they want to make those videos for and they did not choose the 2OT victory. They do provide the proper blueprint on how to create, because it is a league property (that slogan and the way it’s created). So we created a version. That was in production as soon as the next day we were in the office. The fact that another fan-made version was also released is just timing. His was very well done, but he had the benefit of releasing it prior to the game. We never post a video online before we would unveil in-game. Great minds think alike for the video concept, but honestly, it was a story that was pretty easy to go off of (and we both had the same concept going). Now both versions are out there, the team’s official and the fan version. It’s not a competition, so enjoy them both. They are just made to celebrate a great moment in Caps history.
