Yes there’s a big game here tonight — first place in the Southeast is on the line — but all the Capitals’ digital community is talking about today is a brand new TV commercial featuring Alexander Ovechkin. He’s made a few good ones this season in his pitch work for CCM. But his latest is an ESPN jewel in its wildly successful line of promos for ‘Sportscenter.’
But there’s more**. Dmitry Chesnokov has chimed in with a great subtext to this spot. Alexander Semin is somewhat conspicuous in his absence in the commercial; turns out, he was a part of principal photography but left out in final editing. Dmitry offered his Twitter followers today an image of Semin’s role in driving a “getaway golf cart” for the ESPN espionage caper.
** Yes, we know Dmitry was kidding with his tweet. Obviously that picture wasn’t even taken in the US, much less Bristol. But it would have been funny, no?
Hahaha, this is great stuff. I’ve been away on winter holiday anticipating catching up on Caps photos and videos when I returned. Thanks for posting this additional treat for me to enjoy.
That picture was taken at the Athletes Village at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics
I could watch this stuff on an endless loop!
I wondered about Semin, too, till I realized the fact Varly was in the ceiling in full goalie gear made it funnier.
