That first period had me worried. I stepped away from the TV during intermission. A few chores and five minutes later I come back to see the score was 3-2. I had to rewind the DVR to see what I had missed. Really happy to see MP85 settling in.
I figured you’d post something special for this win.
Tremendous.
Eight Was Enough! Great image, big win. Loved Matty talking about the jubilant the post-game locker room.
At least it didnt reach level of needing the “Now I can die in peace” sign
A bright spot in what has been a miserable sports month
Go Matty go!
Thou art Perreault and upon this little rock I will build my church….. Perreault is derived from Pierre which is French for Peter. Our little rock is a great foundation for the Caps second line. MP is the Caps goals leader for this month! Bravo Matty!
The season starts now
Congrats to MP85! His energy saved the day.
However, it’s better to be patient and don’t expect a ton of victories now. Yesterday was just a replay against Boston, but without unlucky bounces and Tim Thomas.
So, a lot of work ahead and let’s hope for the best.
My 17 year old hit it on the nose. The game turning event was the almost goal at the end of the first that just missed the buzzer. Gave them the momentum that they carried into the second. Not to diminish Matty’s performance, he was spectacular.
Great picture. Yea for Matty! Can they please keep our little rock up for the rest of the season and not give him a bus ticket to Hershey as a Christmas present when others come off IR?
Whew, i was scared after the first period, but holy crap what a way to respond at the beginning of the second.
MP85 as a Calder Cup Champ. I’d like to see him with Stanley next!
Keep movin’ forward the victories will come. Did you notice the stat on NHL on the Fly about 5 of the last 6 Stanley Cup champs that had slumps during their championship seasons? It happens. I think that’s what it was 5 of the last 6 anyhow. You gotta know how to lose to win. The Caps are right up there in the education department, aren’t they?
Later we can again point out that the Edmonton Oilers belly flopped in the playoffs 3 straight years (albeit that was in the good ole’ days of 5-game first rounds) 1980-82, and lost in the Cup finals 0-4, before finally breaking through in 1984 🙂

Although there’s no guarantee the past predicts anything in the present.
I felt great relief last night as the final seconds ticked away. Although Jason Chimera’s late, truly needless penalty had me crawling up the wall…
We shouldn’t overlook Fehr’s contribution. There were long stretches when he was carrying that top line by winning board battles and generally being a menace on the forecheck. I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen him play that hard.
