Kolbe’s 1000th Tribute

Last week was a historical one for Capitals’ radio broadcasters. The original radio voice of the Caps, Ron Weber, was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto. And current Capitals’ radio play-by-play voice Steve Kolbe celebrated his 1,000th call of NHL hockey, all of them here in D.C. with the Caps. It’s remarkable to think that over nearly 40 seasons of Capitals’ hockey we’ve had just those two voices on the radio.

WTOP’s Ben Raby was kind enough to share with us a tribute to the Ice Man, and here it is for you:
