Bloggers and Big Media, in Chorus

Last week I alluded to a relatively new-found synergy that local hockey blogs have been enjoying with local Big Media, and here’s sampling of it. Both Comcast Sportsnet and the Washington Post solicited participation from Washington’s hockey bloggers over the weekend as part of their respective season kickoff coverage of NHL hockey. The Post asked five local blogs for their respective keys to the new Caps’ season, and all the submissions by Japers’ Rink, Russian Machine Never Breaks, Peerless, and WNST’s Ed Frankovic merit your perusal.

Last Friday night Dmitry Chesnokov and I sat down  in studio with Comcast Sportsnet’s Russ Thaler to preview the Caps’ season a bit. Visits like this, however, are a special challenge for Kim in Comcast’s makeup room.
