NCAA Office Hoops Pools Are So 20th Century

OFB MugSo now we know the field of 16 competing in single elimination fashion for the right to visit the nation’s capital in spring and the first-ever Frozen Four hosted by Washington. Ours is a tidier sheet of brackets, with far less pretender fluff.

Now we at OFB want your Frozen Four picks.

There’s a fresh feel to this field — defending champ BC is prematurely golfing; ditto for the Gophers and Badgers.

In a field of really hot goaltenders, who will be the hottest in each regional? Are we in store for a couple of those crazy multiple overtime sudden death region-deciders? The fun begins next Friday, and by Sunday night we’ll know who’s headed to D.C.

All this week, up til noon on Friday, send us your Frozen Four picks to

The first person to correctly identify the four final schools will be mailed an OFB coffee mug. He or she will also be honored with a loud congratulatory callout here. If we have multiple correct selectors we’ll call them all out. Good luck.

Go Terriers (from BU). I have to be partial to them since my daughter graduated from there.

BU, UMD, Notre Dame and Michigan.
    Final: BU vs Notre Dame
    Winner: Notre Dame

Not that I’m competing for the mug (obviously), but I’m predicting the Frozen Four to be:
    North Dakota
    Air Force
    Notre Dame

My knee-jerk picks for a contest in which I am not eligible:
    Boston U.
Boston U. beats Denver in the final

And just like that… I have two out.
