The Hershey Bears’ Alexandre Giroux netted his 50th goal yesterday, just three shy of Tony Cassolato’s all-time
Bears franchise record of 53
tallies in a single season. No Bears player has hit the 50 mark in the past 22 seasons.
Giroux has seen some time with the Caps this season — 12 games, with a goal (a GWG to be precise), an assist, and a +4 rating — making his AHL-scorching performance all the more impressive.
Kudos to Giroux, and here’s hoping he can translate that AHL scoring touch to the bigs in the very near future.
I’ll be pulling for him to hit 54. Good luck A.G.
