One of the advantages of having a birthday fairly close to Christmas is to pool gift money together to up the ante on your loot. In this case, the procured item was a new image capturing device. I’ve only begun to learn how to use this fancy piece of equipment and related software, but here are a few shots from a rookie photographer/image editor.
Tilt-shift? Nice. Did you get the lens for it, or do the post-processing in software?
Gustafsson – Happy Birthday!
They look like toys!
Great photos.
Gus was showing me the results at last night’s game on a screen — so I’m guessing he has the lens for it now. Though of course it looks better here than on the little LCD!
Thanks. I wish I had the lens for it, but it is a bit pricey for us at the moment. Perhaps when some children are out of daycare. Therefore, it was done in software.
However, birthday presents will be accepted. 😉
Actually, I was showing you the post-processed image on my phone, but that’s neither here nor there.
Those are pretty sweet pics. And thankfully the scoreboard was blurred out…
Very cool photos! As one person mention they look like toys. It reminds me of my Stiga Hockey game that I had when I was a kid.
Specs on the photo and equipment? I too thought it was a model at first.
@ Mac: Ha! Yeah, the blurred scoreboard does make this game’s photos more appealing.
It’s a Canon Rebel XSi w/ the standard lens and Photoshop editing, but as Kurt mentioned, the same effects can be captured directly using a tilt-shift lens. I’d love to get a tilt-shift lens, but first in line would be a quality zoom.
Nice pics and happy Bday Gus.
Those pics are so awesome! I want to learn how to do that!
Nice shots – the effect is very striking, particularly on the top image. Well done!
