NBC Sports: Paragon of Accuracy

NBC Sports continued its tradition of thoroughly vetting and verifying information during the Rangers-Penguins game today with the scroll on the bottom of the screen showing the top ten playoff points leaders. I must have missed the news that Ovechkin went to Montreal (somehow, I think they’d like that right now).

Ha! While I was watching that game I noticed the blunder as well. They got the right team when recapping goal scorers but some how he was switched to Montreal for points. Not that Montreal would mind having hm right now.

  2. vt caps fan says:

    typical

  3. Joe says:

Guh. I mentioning wanting to punch Pierre McGuire in the face earlier today. NBC’s hockey coverage sucks.

  4. Kim says:

Milbury also called Chris Drury Daniel Briere during the third period of the game. I have a feeling that he will be getting a quick smack on the head from Drury for that one in the near future.

  5. Capsaholic says:

So THAT’S why we got Huet so cheap. 😉

  6. Jeff says:

Why would you want to punch Pierre McGuire in the face? he is a brilliant hockey person.

  7. dave says:

Has Yahoo! changed it’s Backstrom picture yet?

  8. Mark Tucker says:

I think Hockey on NBC is like it was at the end of the ESPN reign… not given the respect it deserves. I love the fact that hockey is thriving IN SPITE OF the fact that ESPN is nowhere to be seen and NBC putting on this kind of “stuff”. They need a little less “color” in their commentary.

  9. Scott in Shaw says:

In their defense, Ovechkin DID go to Montreal . . . to join the Russian team for the World Championships.

  10. josh says:

I was more frustrated with the politics NBC brought in, allowing Mike Richter to sell his company to “support” environmental causes. Then Milbury adding on with his environmental thoughts of the weather in Boston, UGH! Is there any trend that the NHL won’t follow in order to present itself better on Madison Ave. (limited fighting, no octipi(?) in Detroit… the list goes on and on.
Keep the politics out of hockey!

  11. Curtis says:

Dumb and dumber….Just give all of the hockey games to our crew at comcast. Even though I have Direct tv…I think they do the best job!
    It’s almost footbal season…hate the warm weather>>>>

  12. The Teacher says:

Habs inside/out has many Gainey and Price bashers, and I must admit watching our lasr few games, I still believe we can use a line with a big center and power foward. My letter tothe Gazette expressed that, and Mr Gainey has left us small, Pleks is not a first line center, and we have too many heartless EUROPEONS.

To our Habs fan that keeps commenting with the same (or similar) email address with different screen names and the same IP, your comments will no longer be approved.

  14. Kenneth David says:

Thank you, administrators, we get the same problem at Habs inside/out site.

  15. Kenneth David says:

Admin, Habs inside/out site has a poster named Sidhu on Mile Boones article called “There will be Blood Tonight”. maybe thats why so many aggravated fans are coming here today. Habsguy told people to leavea comment.

  16. duane says:

I love when Montreal fans finally realize their team is a FRAUD, and gets beat up by a second rate team with size and skill. Beat them up Flyers, beat them up.

  17. Admin says:

It was one person with the same email and IP address using different screen names to give the impression that many people were commenting (even replying to himself).
    We love serious discussions.
    We do not tolerate shenanigans.

  18. NS2NOVA says:

So that explains why Ovie wasn’t skating in the last couple of Habs games. I thought it was just because he was a healthy scratch or something. 😉

  19. Netsy says:

You bloggers do realize that you can use photo editing programs to resize images, right? Setting a 2,816-pixel-by-2,112-pixel image to display at 495-by-371-pixels doesn’t change the fact that you’re posting a 2,816-by-2,112, 1.8 megabyte image on a Web page.

  20. Gustafsson says:

    Nesty,
Most of the time we do resize the images. Over the weekend we upgraded our WordPress software. One of the changes were to allow set three sizes of images upon upload. We didn’t realize that it didn’t resize them and only set the height and width tags.
Secondly, the post author had only been home from the hospital with a newborn for only 7 days when making this post. That she’s finding time to author a post so soon is of more use to us than not resizing an image.
In any case, thank you for your comment.

  21. chanuck says:

Man people bustin on my lady. I blame the lack of sleep.
Habs are done. Price has been a joke in the playoffs. Sad they are the only team I can take in the east right now.

  22. Thanks for post. Nice to see such good ideas.
